Material examined. One specimen, 278.0 mm TL: MNHN 1989–352 (1, 278.0 mm), MD, 62 CB 104.

Distribution. Bathycongrus dubius was described from the Caribbean Sea off Colombia (12º16’N, 72º40’W), and is known from the western Atlantic from off Georgia, USA to Southern Brazil ( Castro & Bonecker 2004; Smith 1989b; Menezes et al. 2003; Séret & Andreata 1992).
