Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality. It is to be treated as a noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. Males of this species can be distinguished from all other species of the group by the shape of the male embolar prolateral process which is narrow with translucent dorsal area enlarged only basally ( Fig. 97H View FIGURES 97 ). Females are close to C. platensis comb. nov. and C. floridana comb. nov., can be distinguished from both by the shape of the internal genitalia with narrow, straight stalk-like anterior structure ( Fig. 99H View FIGURES 99 ).

Description. Male ( PBI _OON 25539). Total length 1.67. CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace orange-brown, ovoid in dorsal view, pars cephalica slightly elevated in lateral view, surface of elevated portion of pars cephalica granulate, sides granulate; lateral margin without denticles. Clypeus curved downwards in front view, high, ALE separated from edge of carapace by their radius or more, around ALE diameter. Eyes all subequal; ALE separated by more than their diameter, PLE-PME separated by less than PME radius. Sternum orange-brown, fused to carapace, furrow wrinkled, surface smooth, microsculpture everywhere but front, anterior margin with continuous transverse groove, posterior margin not extending posteriorly of coxae IV, slightly punctate in front; setae originating from surface. Mouthparts: Chelicerae, endites and labium orange-brown. Chelicerae anterior face unmodified; retromargin without teeth; fangs without tooth-like projections; paturon inner margin with short inter-digitating setae, laminate groove absent. Labium anterior margin indented at middle. Endites anteromedian part forming a groove between ser- rula and the apical portion. ABDOMEN: rounded posteriorly; dorsum soft portions pale white. Pedicel scuto-pedi- cel region with paired curved scutal ridges, plumose setae absent, ridge double, dorsal one larger, ventral one very small. Dorsal scutum orange-brown, middle surface punctate, sides punctate. Epigastric scutum: anterior spiracles secondary openings at level of epigastric furrow under a fold, inconspicuous. Postepigastric scutum orange-brown, long, semicircular, without posteriorly directed lateral apodemes. Spinneret scutum large. LEGS: orange-brown. GENITALIA: Epigastric region with sperm pore circular, situated in front of anterior spiracles, rebordered. Palp proximal segments orange-brown. Conductor flattened laterally with large dorso-distal indentation. Embolar tip a longer translucent tube with same sized embolar distal process; embolar prolateral process filiform ( Figs 97G View FIGURES 97 ̅H, 98A̅D).

Female ( PBI _OON 25539). As in male except as noted. Total length 1.98. GENITALIA: internal genitalia sub- quadrate, oval receptaculum ( Fig. 99H View FIGURES 99 ).
