Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 8 ) wingspan 24.0–33.0 mm. This species can be separated from its congeners by the forewing with a yellow cresent spot below costa on the inner side of the postmedial line and a silver-white spot posterolateral to it. Orybina plangonalis is similar to O. regalis in the male and female genitalia, but it can be distinguished from the latter by the uncus parallel for basal half and distinctly narrowed to pointed apex, the valva with dorsal margin convex in the male genitalia ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 12 – 15 ); by the ductus bursae joined the corpus bursae at middle of the lateral side of the corpus bursae, and the corpus bursae about half the length of the ductus bursae in the female genitalia ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 20 – 26 ). In O. regalis , the uncus is broadened medially, and the valva is convex at dorsal margin in the male genitalia ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 12 – 15 ); the ductus bursae joins the corpus bursae at posterolateral side of the corpus bursae, and the corpus bursae is about 4/5 the length of the ductus bursae in the female genitalia ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 20 – 26 ).

Distribution. China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Henan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Taiwan ( Yoshiyasu 1992), Yunnan, Zhejiang), Bhutan ( Irungbam et al. 2016), India (Walker 1859), Myanmar ( Wang et al. 2003), Thailand (Yanagita et al. 2006–2017).
