Holotypus ♁: Turkmenistan, Kopet dagh Mts., 6 km S of Ipay-Kala, 57°07´E, 31°17´N, 16.-23. viii.1992, leg. M. Hreblay, Gy. Laszlo & G. Ronkay. The holotype is deposited in MWM GoogleMaps .
Paratypes: 195 ♁ same data as holotype ( CWA, CTS, MWM) GoogleMaps .

9 ♁: Nordpersien , Umg. Shahabad Nationalpark, 1300 m, 1.viii.–22.viii.1977, leg. de Freina. 2 ♁ Iran, Elburs, 7 km S Chalus, 8.viii.1978, leg. W. Thomas; 1 ♁ Nordost-Iran, Kuh i Mirabi, Waldzone, 1600–1900 m, Juli, Exp. Wernicke ( CWA, CTS, MWM) .
Etymology. Named after its discovery in Central Asia ( Turkmenistan).
Diagnosis. The species is easily recognized by its dark blackish colour, which is the darkest of all known species of the genus. Resembles O. elegantis sp. nov. in male genitalia but valvae broader, cucullus shorter and clasper of the sacculus covered with 4–5 very short spines. The vinculum is more triangular, and the saccus is slenderer.
Description. Head. Frons and vertex are densely covered with dark brown hair. Eyes EI 0.6 Antennae of nearly half forewing length, with very long and widely separated pecten and 32–34 segments.
Thorax. Wings. Wingspan 20–23 mm, forewing length 10–12 mm. Wings stretched, slender, costal margin slightly concave at the basal third. Apex pointed, termen oblique and posterior margin straight. Semihyalin, covered with very long and thin dark greyish-brown hair-like scales, is the darkest colour of all known species of the genus. Fringes slightly darker blackish brown. FI 2.2. Hindwings of the same colour as forewings, termen and anal margin roundish.
Abdomen. Protruding the hindwings, conical and densely covered with blackish-grey hair.
Male genitalia. GP 4148, 4149 ( Fig. 45 View FIGURES 42–49. 42 ). Resembles O. elegantis sp. nov. but valvae broader, cucullus shorter and clasper of the sacculus covered with 4–5 very short spines. The vinculum is more triangular, and the saccus is slenderer.
Female. Unknown.
Larval case. Unknown.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality in Turkmenistan.Additional material, which probably belongs to this new species was collected in Iran. Due to minor differences in colour and partially also in wing shape, these specimens were not integrated into the type series.
