Redescription. Head. Frons and vertex are densely covered with light brown hair. Eyes EI 0.49. Antennae of nearly half forewing length, with very long and widely separated pecten and 30–32 segments.
Thorax. Wings. Wingspan 22–27 mm, forewing length 12–15 mm. Wings short, costal margin almost straight, slightly concave at the base. Apex roundish, termen oblique, posterior margin straight. Mixed covered with greyish brown long hair-like scales, lanceolate and weak bifurcated scales. A characteristic s-shaped short whitish band at the last third of the forewings. The costal margin is darker brownish and more densely scaled. FI 2.17. Hindwings of the same colour as forewings.
Abdomen. Protruding distinctly the hindwings, conical and densely covered with yellowish-grey hair.
Male genitalia. GP 4157, 4158 ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 33–41. 33 ). Very slender in general appearance. Resembles O. acutipennis , but tegumen slenderer, cucullus longer, slender. Clasper of the sacculus covered with 5–6 very short spines.
Female. No description in detail but very schematic mentioning by Plotnikov (after Kozhanshikov 1956). Larval case. Length 50–60 mm, width 8–10 mm. Covered with numerous large plant fragments, stalks of grasses and twigs of shrubs, that are arranged longitudinally ( Kozhanshikov 1956).
Distribution. Widespread in central Asia. Has been recorded from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
