Pelopaeus pictus F. Smith, 1856: 231 View in CoL , ♂. Syntypes: India: no specific locality (OXUM).

Diagnosis. Female. Similar to S.madraspatanum madraspatanum (Fabricius) in general morphology and colouration except propodeal dorsum with large yellow marks, confluent with large yellow mark on apex; scutellum with large yellow spot ( Fig. 53 View FIGURES 51–55 ); distinct yellow mark below tegula ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 51–55 ).

Male. Similar to female.

Distribution. India: Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan (new state record), Uttar Pradesh (new state record), West Bengal. Elsewhere: Afghanistan; Iran; Oman; Pakistan; Qatar; Turkmenistan; United Arab Emirates (van der Vecht & van Breugel 1968; Gadallah 2020; Pulawski 2021).
