Remarks. Male of this species is recorded here for the first time. It is generally similar to female in structure and coloration.

Distribution. Mexico (Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo,? Puebla), Costa Rica.

Biology. Two Mexican specimens were reared from hosts pupating in concealment on Parthenium hysterophorus L. ( Asteraceae ); one host was in lepidopterous gall, the second host was bred from a “pupa” in a stem base ( Gauld 1991). The holotype was collected in Costa Rica at light.
