Zonopimpla lorraineae Gauld, Ugalde-Gómez & Hanson 1998: 158 View in CoL [holotype ♀ (INBio), Costa Rica, Guanacaste Prov., Parque Nacional Guanacaste, Volcán Cacao , 1000–1400 m, v.1991, coll. Guadamuz & D.G. García].

Remarks. Male of this species is recorded here for the first time. Whitish facial marks in male are larger than in female. Mesosoma predominantly orange, pronotum and lateral lobes of mesoscutum anteriorly blackish. Fore and mid legs predominantly orange, with coxae and trochanters white and antetior surfaces of tibiae whitish. Hind leg orange with trochanter blackish, tibia and tarsus slightly infuscate. Metasomal segment 7 posteriorly and paramers fuscous. Otherwise as in female.

Khalaim. 1 ♀ ( UAT) 8 km S of Tequila, Volcán de Tequila, 20°49.2’N, 103°51.6’W, 1800–2000 m, 9.ii.2009, coll. A.I. Khalaim. Chiapas: 2 ♀, 1 ♁ ( UAT) Municipio San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Reserva Huitepec, ex nido Hylesia sp. sobre Arbutus xalapensis , 25.i.2005, coll. Y. Balam Ballote. PANAMA. 1 ♀ ( RMNH) Chiriquí Prov., Fortuna, 8°44’N, 82°15’W, 1050 m, at light, 17–23.x.1978, coll. H. Wolda.

Distribution. Mexico (Jalisco, Chiapas), Costa Rica, Panama. First records from Mexico and Panama.

Biology. Reared from Hylesia sp. ( Lepidoptera : Saturniidae ) on Arbutus xalapensis Kunth (Ericaceae) in Mexico.
