Remarks. This species has distinct variation in the shape of male genitalia (13S–X). In the aforementioned bicolor subgroup (see differential diagnosis of Mimela admixta new species), this species is easily characterized by the non-metallic body in combination to broad lateral carinae of elytra. This species was regarded as a junior synonym of Mimela opalina Ohaus, 1902 for a long time. But it is easily separated by the base of pronotum distinctly narrower than base of elytra (bases of pronotum and elytra almost equal in width in M. opalina ) and lateral carinae more distinct.
Distribution. China *: Yunnan; Vietnam: Lao Cai.
