TYPE SPECIES. Fidicina aper Walker 1850: 87 View in CoL . (Cayenne, French Guiana)
Remarks. Species of Majeorona are distinguished by a head width that is wider than the mesonotum, with prominent eyes that are stylate and extended anteriorly, the pronotum is shorter than the mesonotum and the timbal covers are not concave dorsally.
Distribution. Species of the genus have been reported from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Peru ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2011a; 2013; 2014; Sanborn & Maes 2012; Maes et al. 2012).
