Identification. Body elongated; mouth superior; pre- maxilla and dentary with several small teeth, dentary prognathous. Lateral line unpored; nine transverse scale rows; longitudinal series with 29 to 31 scales. Overall body coloration yellowish; brown chromatophores con- centrated on distal margin of scales resulting in conspicuous reticulated pattern; vertical elongated conspicuous brown mark on 16° to 18° scale on longitudinal row; males with elongated anal-fin rays; ventral portion of eyes reddish; yellowish fins.
