( Figs. 77–79 View FIGURES 77 – 79 , Map 7)
Amanota miricornis Pace, 1999: 171 View in CoL .
Type material. Holotype: ɗ: Namibia, East Caprivi, Mudumu National Park, Nakatwa, Kwando river, 8– 13.III.1992, M. Uhlig ( ZMHB). Paratypes: ɗ, 2ΨΨ: Namibia, Kavango, Kaudom Camp, 22–25.II.1992, M. Uhlig ( ZMHB); Ψ: Namibia, Kavango, Gelukkie, Kavango river, 1.III.1992, M. Uhlig ( ZMHB).
Redescription. Body. Length 2.1–2.3 mm, convex, parallelsided, glossy; body colour pitchy brown; elytra brown, tergites III–IV brownishred, antennae brown with antennomeres 1–2 red and 11 yellow, legs yellow.
Head circular in outline, convex; eyes relatively large, moderately protruding from lateral contours of head, length of each seen from above subequal to that of postocular region; surface of head with very fine isodiametric mesh microsculpture; puncturation fine and dense. Antennae very long, extending to 3/4 of elytra, slightly increasing in width apically, antennomere 3 longer than 2, antennomeres 4–10 longer than wide, decreasing in length, antennomere 11 nearly coniform.
Pronotum quadrate, convex, lateral sides sinuately narrowed to obtuse hind angles; before base with relatively large transverse impression; surface without microsculpture; puncturation fine and dense; pubescence at midline directed entirely anteriorly.
Elytra subquadrate, at suture slightly shorter than pronotal length at midline; surface without microsculpture; puncturation fine and dense.
Abdomen widened posteriorly, bases of tergites III–V each with deep transverse impression, impressions coarsely punctate, third impression slightly finer; tergal puncturation fine and dense; surface without microsculpture.
Male. Aedeagus as in Figs. 77–78 View FIGURES 77 – 79 .
Female. Spermatheca as in Fig. 79 View FIGURES 77 – 79 .
Remarks. Ischnopoderona miricornis is very similar to I. hirtipenis , from which it can be distinguished by the larger eyes, length of each seen from above subequal to that of postocular region (eyes shorter than postocular region in I. hirtipenis ), the surface of head with distinct microsculpture (head lacking microsculpture in I. hirtipenis ), the antennomere 3 longer than 2 (antennomeres 2 and 3 subequal in length in I. hirtipenis ), the antennomere 10 longer than wide (antennomere 10 as long as wide in I. hirtipenis ) and by the shape of the aedeagus.
Distribution. Namibia (Map 7).

Type material. Holotype: ɗ: Ethiopia: Shoa, Addis Abeba, 1971 ( BMNH).
Description. Body. Length 2.7 mm, convex, parallelsided, glossy; body colour dark brown; abdomen black with tergites III–IV brownishred, antennae brown with antennomeres 1–2 and 11 yellow, legs red.
Head circular in outline, convex; eyes relatively small, weakly protruding from lateral contours of head, length of each seen from above shorter than postocular region; surface of head without microsculpture; puncturation minute, pinpricklike and dense. Antennae long, extending to 1/2 of elytra, slightly increasing in width apically, antennomeres 2 and 3 subequal in length, antennomeres 4–8 longer than wide, antennomeres 9–10 as long as wide, antennomere 11 nearly coniform.
Pronotum quadrate, convex, lateral sides sinuately narrowed to obtuse hind angles; before base with relatively large and deep transverse impression; surface without microsculpture; puncturation fine and dense; pubescence at midline directed entirely anteriorly.
Elytra subquadrate, at suture shorter than pronotal length at midline; surface without microsculpture; puncturation fine and dense.
Abdomen widened posteriorly, bases of tergites III–V each with deep transverse impression, first two impressions coarsely punctate, third impression smooth, impunctate; tergal puncturation fine and dense; surface without microsculpture.
Male. Aedeagus as in Figs. 80–81 View FIGURES 80 – 81 .
Female unknown.
Remarks. See remarks under I. miricornis .
Etymology. The name hirtipenis refers to the build of aedeagus.
Distribution. Ethiopia (Map 7).
