This species was originally described from the Galapagos Is. ( Morrison, 1924) but is now known to be widespread in the Neotropics on a variety of plants (Williams & Granara de Willink, 1988b). It has previously been recorded from New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Western Samoa in the tropical South Pacific. In Fiji, it was collected on Viti Levu, Suva, Thurston Gardens, 11.vii.2009, on an unknown plant. It is a polyphagous species which might become economically significant.
