Treatment

Lever (1945a) and Hinckley (1965) recorded Asterolecanium pustulans (Cockerell) from Fiji on bamboo and Schizostachyum glaucifolium . These records were found to be misidentifications for B. robusta by Williams and Watson (1990). The present specimens were collected on Taveuni, Bouma, on leaves of Bambusa sp., 23.vii.2009.
