Pseudalacaspis MacGillivray 1921: 305 . Type species Diaspis pentagona Targioni Tozzetti , by original designation.
As presently understood, Pseudaulacaspis is a large genus with 67 species ( Ben-Dov et al., 2010). Williams and Watson (1988 a) state that “In the South Pacific area, this genus probably contains numerous species.” As it is, 5 of the 9 Pseudaulacaspis species recorded by Williams and Watson (1988 a) from the South Pacific are known from Fiji, and 2 are currently only known from there. Here we describe another species and provide a key for the separation of Pseudaulacaspis species from Fiji.
