Diagnosis. Recognized by the fuscous, larger body, less shining dorsal surface, and darkened meso- and metafemora, by which this new species is readily distinguished from the other congener, A. moteus .

Description. Body generally blackish; dorsal surface less shining, somewhat pruinosed or shagreened. Antenna brown; segment I pale brown; segment II somewhat tinged with red. Labium pale brown, except for darkened segment IV. Pronotum and scutellum roughened, less shining, shallowly and transversely rugose; thoracic pleura fuscous; ventral margin of ostiolar peritreme yellowish white. Hemelytron velvety grayish black, with four white maculae each on middle and apical clavus, and anterior and posterior corium (anterior maculae and posterior maculae are each continuous and form two fascia in male as in Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A); membrane somber grayish brown, except for pale, translucent posterior margin. All coxae and legs dark brown, except for pale brown procoxa, proleg, apical half of mesotibia, apical 1/4 of metatibia, and all tarsomeres I and II. Abdomen shiny dark brown. Measurements. 3/Ƥ: Total body length 3.75/ 3.43; length from apex of clypeus to cuneal fracture 2.75/ 2.56; head width across eyes 0.81/ 0.77; vertex width 0.29/ 0.38; lengths of antennal segment I–IV 0.23, 1.07, 0.61, 0.50/ 0.23, 1.02, 0.60, 0.47; labial length 1.02/ 0.99; mesal pronotal length 0.86/ 0.74; basal pronotal width 0.90/ 0.78; width across hemelytron 0.96/ 1.04; and lengths of metafemur, tibia and tarsus 1.20, 1.98, 0.30/ 1.22, 2.03, 0.32.

Etymology. From Latin, pius (= holy, pious), referring to the general appearance as if it were wearing a ceremonial dress in pious Buddhists’ country; an adjective.

Distribution. Thailand (Nakhon Ratchasima Prov.).

Biology. Unknown.

Holotype: 3, THAILAND: Nakhon Ratchasima Prov., SERS, 14˚30'27”N, 101˚55'39”E, 410 m alt., light trap, 3 Jun 2012, T. Yasunaga ( AMNH _PBI 00379513) ( SUT).

Paratype. THAILAND: 1Ƥ, same data, except for date 31 May 2012, T. Yasunaga (00379514) ( TYCN).
