BC: East Barrier Lake , 51 ° 17 ̍ N 119 ° 45 ̍ W, ICH, pitfall trap, old clear cut, 21.VI–5.VII.1995 ( MOF Kamloops) [ UBC]; Kamloops , Opax site, Mud Lake, 1,000 m, IDFxh, uncut control, pitfall trap, 29.IX–13.X.1993 ( MOF Kamloops) [ UBC]. Previously known from AB, CO, MB, MI, MN, MT, ND, NM, NS, NT, ON, PQ, SK and TX (Bousquet and Larochelle 1993), B. obtusus is found among leaves on rather moist soil in shaded positions (Lindroth 1969) .
