Pterostichus empetricola (Dejean) View in CoL
BC: Eddontenajon, 26.VI .1974 (G.G.E. Scudder) [UBC]; Haines Hwy. , km 143–144, 22.V .1978 (Smetana & Becker) [CNC]; Trutch Mt. , mile 179 Alaska Hwy., 18.VI .1958 (Lindroth) [CNC].
Holarctic in distribution, P. empetricola is known in North America from AK, NT and YT (Bousquet and Larochelle 1993). It occurs on the mainland usually among leaves, under Alnus and Salix , and on islands usually on open ground, with rich meadow vegetation (Lindroth 1966). This species apparently is parthenogenetic, and probably polyploid (Lindroth 1966).
