Diagnosis: Body uniformly brown to dark brown; antennal segment III yellowish. Head with cheeks slightly rounded. Pronotum with 20–23 discal setae; anterior margin with one pair of setae slightly elongate. Mesonotum without a pair of CPS; median pair of setae near posterior margin. Metascutum irregularly reticulated medially; median pair of setae near anterior margin. Abdominal terga without ciliate microtrichia on lines of sculpture, smooth medially; tergum II with four lateral marginal setae; terga VI to VIII with B4 setae minute; tergum IX with both anterior and posterior pairs of CPS; sternum without discal setae; sternum VII with median pair of posteromarginal setae situated at posterior margin ( Fig. 124). Male with antennal segment VI almost as long as that of female, with about 20 setae and with microtrichia on ventral surface only. Abdominal tergum IX with posterior pair of CPS, SB1 setae minute ( Fig. 125); sterna without discal setae. Hypomere expanded at apex ( Fig. 125).

Specimens examined. Germany: 2 females, Hessen, Frankfurt, Ost park, Salix sp. , 25­ix­1977, J. S. Bhatti ( TUA) . Italy: 1 male, Cesutni (prov. Roma), vii­1970, Populus sp. G . Marcuzzi ( TUA) .
