Lectotype female, designated by Günther (1977), from southern Illinois, United States. [ MCZ].

Distribution. Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Hispaniola, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, Tobago, and Venezuela.
