Syringophilopsis catesbyi Skoracki, Spicer and OConnor, 2016

This species was recently described from Vireo olivaceus (Linnaeus) from USA (Florida) (Skoracki et al. 2016). Herein, a new host record and a new locality for this mite species is provided.

Material examined. Five females and 5 males from Vireo hypochryseus Sclater ( Passeriformes : Vireonidae ), MEXICO: Jalisco, Chamela Station of UNAM, 22 May 2008, coll. S.V. Mironov (SVM 08-0522-3/3); mite specimens deposited in AMU, UNAM, and UMMZ.
