Syringophilopsis tyranni Bochkov and Galloway, 2004 View in CoL

Representatives of this species are associated with passerines of the family Tyrannidae , and to this time were recorded on avian genera Myiarchus Cabanis , Myiopagis Salvin and Godman , and Tyrannus Lacepede from North and South America ( USA, Canada, Peru) (Skoracki et al. 2016). Herein, a new host record and a new locality for this mite species is provided.

Material examined. Six females and 5 males from Myiozetetes similis (Spix) ( Passeriformes : Tyrannidae ), MEXICO: Veracruz, Los Tuxtlas, 13 May 2008, coll. S.V. Mironov (SVM 08-0513-6/4); mite specimens deposited in UNAM, UMMZ and AMU.
