Description

Shell thin, rather inflated, greenish brown postero-dorsally, length, 8 mm. Anterior margin somewhat acute. Short periostracal strands, denser on the mid- and posterior regions.

Type locality

‘‘Iyo’’ ( Western Seto Island off Ehime Prefecture, Shikoku, Japan)

Distribution

South and East China Seas and Japan. Eastern Hong Kong. Sandy mud bottoms in sheltered waters from 10– 30 m. Intertidal on rocks, within mussel beds, on pilings ( Huang and Lin 1993; Scott 2003). Submarine caves, on empty oyster shells.
