Description

Shell subquadrate, translucent, white. Umbo prosogyrate. Surface finely granulate, with radial lines. Resilium accompanied by a lithodesma. Left valve lacks teeth but right valve with a weak tooth ( Okutani 2000). New record for Hong Kong.

Type locality

Soyo-Maru Station B 2, 26 miles off Miyake Island, Izu Islands, Japan: 34 ° 10.09N., 140 ° 02.39E., 1230–1350 m GoogleMaps .

Distribution

Yellow Sea to Honshu, Japan. 500–1200 m in mud ( Higo et al. 1999). Conic Island Cave, Hong Kong (this study).
