Stegana (Oxyphortica) mengwan Wang and Chen , sp. nov.
( Figures 3 View Figure 3 (c), 4(g), 6(c) and 14).
Diagnosis
This species is similar to S. (O.) maichouensis in the shape of aedeagus, but can be distinguished by the surstylus only with one apical prensiseta ( Figure 14 View Figure 14 (a, b)); gonopods laterally protruded to base of surstyli, anteromedially tri- to quadripartite ( Figure 14 View Figure 14 (b)). The 9.2% interspecific genetic distance to S. (O). triodonta sp. nov. is one of the smallest interspecific distances ascertained within this subgenus; see under that species.
Description
Clypeus brown to dark brown. Palpus yellow. Mesoscutum brownish yellow, brown posteriomedially, with two pairs of thin, indistinct, brown longitudinal stripes sublaterally ( Figure 4 View Figure 4 (g)). Scutellum dark brown, yellow along margin. Katepisternum yellow, sometimes slightly brownish above. Wing yellowish, brownish anterodistally ( Figure 3 View Figure 3 (c)). Abdominal tergites: 1st yellow; 2nd yellow medially, dark brown laterally, anteromedially with one small brown patch; 3rd and 5th yellow on anterior margins, with broad dark brown, medially and laterally protruded bands on posterior margin; 6th tergite yellow medially, dark brown laterally ( Figure 6 View Figure 6 (c)). Sternites yellow in male, dark brown to black in female. Male terminalia: Epandrium with pubescence and setae, prominent on posterolateral corners ( Figure 14 View Figure 14 (a)). Cercus lacking pubescence ( Figure 14 View Figure 14 (a)). Surstylus with several setae distally, one very long ( Figure 14 View Figure 14 (a, b)). Parameres absent ( Figure 14 View Figure 14 (c, d)). Aedeagus sclerotized, haired along peristome, mediolaterally protruded to base of hypandrium ( Figure 14 View Figure 14 (c, d)).
