Flowering time:— May–July.

Habitat:— Bare clayey soil, sandy steppe, rocky volcanic hillsides, stony and rocky slopes, roadsides. 800‒3000 m elevation.

Distribution:— Irano-Turanian element.

Note: — Scrophularia zwartiana Gabrielian was ranked as species doubtfully recorded in Flora of Turkey at “ Kars: Kağızman-Karakurt” ( Lall & Mill 1978). During our field research, only one Scrophularia species was found to occcur in this locality, S. nachitschevanica . We believe that the record of S. zwartiana in that area indeed corresponds to some individual variation of S. nachitschevanica plants, since the former has never been collected in Turkey so far.
