Description: Occiput and posterior two-thirds of frons reddish brown, rest of head orange. Mostly covered with microtomentum, frons with shiny spots lateral to ocellar triangle, face with a medial ventral shiny spot. 3 pairs of interfrontal setae. Ocellar bristles at level of anterior edge of medial ocellus. Subvibrissal bristle about 0.6X length of vibrissa, anterior genal bristle about 0.4X length of vibrissa.

Thorax black, mostly covered with microtomentum. Anepisternum with medial ventral shiny spot, about 0.4X height of sclerite, 0.5X length. Katepisternum with a shiny spot behind coxa, meron and metapleuron shiny.

Legs black, trochanters yellow, tarsi dark brown. Mid tibia with row of anterodorsal, 1 anteroventral, 1 posteroventral. Hind tibia with 2 apicoventral, no anteroventral.

Wing brown, white spots at apices of longitudinal veins, on crossveins, 1 basal and 2 distal to r-m on R 4+5, 1 medial on CuA 1.

Abdomen with tergites black, covered with microtomentum. Syntergite 1+2 appears to be fused with tergite 3. Sternites light brown, weakly sclerotized.

Genitalia not dissected.

Material examined. BOLIVIA: La Paz: Chulumani , 2 Oct 1972, G.E. Bohart (1 ♀, EMUS) .

Notes. The white spot on CuA 1 and apparently fused abdominal tergites indicate that this species belongs to Poecilantrops . It appears quite similar to P. plaumanni except for the fused tergites and the head and tarsomere colour. It is not described pending discovery of male specimens.
