Description. Length of male 7.2mm, female 7.5–8.2mm

General color deep reddish-brown and orange with bright yellow markings. Yellow pronotum mottled with dark reddish-brown. Mesoscutellum yellow anteriorly; reddish brown posteriorly; with ~6 small teeth posteriorly. Forewing reddish-orange; with series of ~4 bright yellow dots from clavus onto corium; with triangular yellow mark between apex of A1 and claval suture; with large oblique yellow mark near Rs extending to costa; with yellow dot mesad of oblique mark; base of central anteapical cell with bright yellow mark; with longitudinal yellow mark in inner anteapical cell (Figs. 1,2).

Female. Sternite VII about 1/2 as long as wide; more or less rounded apically.

Male. Pygofer with thickened ridge continuing from posterodorsal apex ventrally to apical lobe; pygofer side with tenuous, lightly sclerotized portion ventroapically, forming triangular hyaline area (Figs. 3,8). Style apophysis articulated to basal part, chelate, outer marginal surface dimpled ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–9 ). Aedeagus stout; gonopore apical, sloping to posteroventral surface; posteroventral surface with long V-shaped hyaline area from gonopore extending ventrally (Figs. 5,6).

Second label: 12°30’52”S 49°10’53”E, California Acad. of Sciences , R. Harin’Hala collector, malaise trap MA-01-01A-09. Third label: DNA voucher lh177, extracted by R. Rakitov, 11.viii.2007, gen.sp. (crested pronotum). 1 paratype ♀ ( INHS): First label: MADAGASCAR: Province d’Antsiranana, Parc National Montagne d’Ambre, elev 980m, 4–19 Mar 2001, 12°30’52”S 49°10’53”E. Etymology. The adjectival species name, cristata , refers to the crested pronotum.
