Diagnosis. Recognized by the relatively small size and short length, the completely dark coloration of the antennae, hemelytron, legs and body in females.

Description. See Carvalho and Carpintero (1990).

Hosts. Unknown

Distribution. Bolivia

Discussion. Spanagonicus tiquiensis is described from a female holotype ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 J) and 4 paratypes by Carvalho and Carpintero (1990), none of which were accessible for this study. Based on images of the holotype from the La Plata Museum ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 J) and the original description, this species appears very similar to S. aricanus in overall coloration and the lack of dorsal patterning on the hemelytron. However, unlike S. aricanus , the females do not have pale coloration on the first antennal segment. Carvalho and Carpintero (1990) also argue that differences in the length of the antennae and rostrum separate the two species, which is generally supported with the measurements in this study. The measurements of the total length of the type of S. tiquiensis compared to the measurements of female S. aricanus and other species of Spanagonicus ( Table 2) reveal S. tiquiensis to likely be the smallest species in the genus.
