Halamphora sp. 2 ( Figs. 87–89 )

Description:— Valves semi-lanceolate, dorsiventral with smoothly convex dorsal margin and straight or slightly concave ventral margin. Valve ends narrowly rounded, protracted, ventrally bent. Raphe biarcuate with dorsally bent proximal endings. Axial area wide. The central area is a broad fascia on both valve sides. Length 41.3–43.8 μm, valve breadth 6.8–7.5 μm. Striae slightly radiate throughout, 16–17/10 μm.

Distribution and ecology:— Hezhang, Guizhou, China, altitude 1450 m a.s.l., pH 7.2, collected in the pond near the road, with many filiform green algae in the water.

Observations:— Only three specimens have been found in LM. This species is similar to Halamphora hezhangii , but the latter species has a weakly undulated dorsal margin and ventral margin concave in the middle, slightly convex near the end. Moreover, H. hezhangii is slightly more narrow, 6.4–7.0 μm, and has coarse striae, 14–16/10 μm.
