Halamphora sp. 1 ( Figs. 83–86 )

Description:— Valves semi-elliptical, dorsiventral with convex dorsal margin and concave ventral margin. Valve ends protracted and capitate. Length 23.8–28.0 μm, valve breadth 4.7–6.0 μm. Striae radiate throughout, 22–24/10 μm.

Distribution and ecology:— Namtso Lake, Tibet, China, altitude 4729 m a.s.l., pH 9.7, water temperature 16 ºC, collected in the pond near the Namtso Lake, with many Chara in the water.

Observations:— Only four specimens were found in LM. This species has a valve outline similar to Halamphora ghanensis Levkov (2009: 194) , but H. ghanensis has striae that are more coarse, 14–16/10 μm. These specimens can also be compared with H. coraensis ( Foged 1964: 123) Levkov (2009: 180) , a species much larger (length 26–36 μm, valve breadth 4.5–6.5 μm,), with a less convex dorsal margin and more dense striae, 24–26/10 μm than our specimens.
