Description. Head. Antenna bipectinate, gray, darker at the base. Frons brown, Vertex white with the central area black. Palpi erected brown.

Thorax. Patagias white with the central area black. Pterygodes white with the exception of the base and the inner edge black.

Thorax yellowish dorsally and ventrally. Legs alternating yellowish and brownish areas, with the exception of the internal angle of the anterior legs black.

Forewing. (Lenght: 16 mm; Wingspan: 34 mm). Yellowish with presence of a series of bands organized as follows: a post basal band complete, whitish underlined with brown. A median band complete and irregular, whitish underlined with brown. It builds on the reniform spot. Between this spot and the costa, a yellowish area. Post median band irregular, narrow and whitish. Submarginal band sinusoidal, whitish, slightly contrasted. In the costal area, these bands are contrasted with a darker coloration.

Hindwing. Whitish with the exception of the submarginal area brownish.

Abdomen. Grayish dorsally, whitish ventrally.

Male Genitalia. identical to L. occidentalis n. sp. and L. desotoi n. sp. but distinguished by a narrower and elongated uncus. The protuberances of the transtilla are narrower and longer, exceeding the base of the uncus.

Description of the female paratype. Female identical to male excepted the following differences:

Antennae with flagellomeres shorter than male. Wingspan and lenght of the forewing slightly larger, respectively 41 mm and 19 mm.

Genitalia. identical to L. desotoi n. sp. but distinguished by a ductus bursae not sclerotized, barely swollen, very narrow and elongated.

Early stages: Unknown

Etymology. Lophocampa perezgelaberti n. sp. is named in honor of Dr Daniel Perez-Gelabert in recognition of his very important contribution to the knowledge of the entomofauna of the island of Hispaniola and of the Dominican Republic in particular.

Distribution. Lophocampa perezgelaberti n. sp. is only known from the vicinity of the city of Constanza at a high altitude around 2000m.
