Generic characters. The adults of Berotha are characterized by the following characters: the length of antennal scape as long as proximal six to seven flagellomeres; the forewing slightly falcate, with dark pterostigma which is generally narrowly elongate and gradate series with dark brown markings; the male sternum 9 slightly reduced or enlarged into paired lateral lobes; the male gonocoxite 9 basally rod-like, terminally hook-like; and the complex of male fused gonocoxites, gonapophyses and gonostyli 10 (= paramere-mediuncus complex) generally comprising a basal sclerite, which is rectangular in lateral view, laterally with paired narrow lobes directed posterolaterally, and a large or small bow-shaped structure formed by bundled bristles.

Distribution. China; India; Indonesia; Laos; Malaysia; Myanmar; Nepal; Philippines; Singapore; Sri Lanka; Thailand.

Notes. This genus is one of the most species-rich groups of Berothidae , with 13 described species that have a restricted distribution confined to the Oriental region (U. Aspöck & Randolf 2014). Information on the taxonomic revision of Berotha in the fauna from southern and southeastern Asia has been compiled by U. Aspöck & H. Aspöck (1981), U. Aspöck (1983), U. Aspöck et al. (2013) and Li et al. (2018).
