Anoplodactylus turbidus Stock, 1975 View in CoL
Anoplodactylus trispinosus Stock, 1964: 31 View in CoL , gures 5–7 [Red Sea specimen only]. Anoplodactylu s turbidus Stock, 1975a: 1076, 1079 View in CoL –1080, gure 56b–g.
Anoplodactylus cf. turbidus Stock, 1975b: 133 View in CoL .
Material examined. Saudi Arabia: Miscellaneous station : Sta. Child 218, reef ledge S of Manifa boat inlet, wash of rock rubble in 1.3–2.1 m, 27ss30¾ 35 ² N, 49ss00¾ 15 ² E, 40 ppt salinity, 14 September 1982 (one) GoogleMaps .
Distribution. The shallows of the western Indian Ocean and Red Sea contain the few collecting localities known for this species; at Ethiopia, Tanzania and Madagascar. It is new to the Gulf as are all other species except for Callipallene pectinata (Calman) listed from new material in this report.
Remarks. It should be noted that this species was not found at the many repeatedly collected shallow sites of this multi-year sampling programme, although many collections were made during the NABS programme at nearby Manifa sites. Rock rubble habitats apparently were not otherwise sampled for microfauna during the programme.
