Omphalosathes opistopsalidus Gaud, Atyeo and Berla, 1972
Hosts and distribution. This species was described ex Nothocercus bonapartei (Gray) ( Tinamiformes : Tinamidae ) from Colombia (Dept. Magdalena, Tierra Nueva; Dept. Huila, Belén), with additional material ex Nothocercus julius (Bonaparte) from Ecuador ( Gaud et al. 1972). This mite has never been recollected since the original description.
