Distribution. Gyrophaena (s.str.) discoidea is known from Far Eastern Russia (Maritime Province ( Fig. 295 View FIGURES 289–296 )) and China (Shaanxi).
Remarks. Gyrophaena discoidea was originally described from Shaanxi, China. Based on the general shapes of the aedeagus, R. Pace compared it with the Nepalese G. narendra Pace, 1989 . Besides that, the shape of aedeagus of G. discoidea is also similar to the Palaearctic G. (s.str.) gentilis Erichson, 1839 , but clearly differs from it by the shape of the posterior portion of the male abdominal sternite VIII with two strong, moderately long and wide, curved apical projections on the apical margin.
Habitus as in Fig. 194 View FIGURES 194–201 . Aedeagus as in Fig. 195 View FIGURES 194–201 . Paramere as in Fig. 196 View FIGURES 194–201 . Male abdominal tergite VIII as in Fig. 197 View FIGURES 194–201 . Male abdominal sternite VIII as in Fig. 198 View FIGURES 194–201 . Female abdominal tergite VIII as in Fig. 199 View FIGURES 194–201 . Female abdominal sternite VIII as in Fig. 200 View FIGURES 194–201 . Spermatheca as in Fig. 201 View FIGURES 194–201 .
It is here recorded for the fauna of Russia for the first time.
