Type species: Pediopsis garuda Distant, 1916 .
Diagnosis. Body stout, small to moderately large species. Face distinctly longer than wide. Forewing with 2 anteapical cells, veins with white spotted. Hind femoral spinulation 2+1. Male pygofer elongate with tiny apical spine or acute tip or caudal margin serrate, dorsal connectives elongate, slender and sinuate, variously armed with articulating against upper margins of pygophore. Aedeagal shaft curved near apex with or without pair of slender processes.
Biology. Species of the subgenus feed on shrubs or trees.
Distribution. Palaearctic Oriental, to Australian regions.
Comments. Subgenus Pedionis has very widely distributed in the Palaearctic and Oriental regions, including China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Guinea, Philippines.
