List Spec. Lep. Ins. Colln. Brit. Mus.: 796; Wu and Park, 1999: 6. TL: Sri Lanka [BMNH]. = basaliella Walker, 1864 .
Diagnosis. The species is characterized by the thick, dark fuscous antenna. The male is known for the first time.
Adult ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 2 – 15 , holotype). Wingspan, 10.0–11.0 mm.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 40, 40 View FIGURES 39 – 44 a). Valva with large, round median protrusion on ventral margin; distal part of valva thumb-like with round apex. Median lobe of juxta slightly bent, as long as 1/3 length of valva, heavily sclerotized. Aedeagus with a long bar-shaped cornutus, as long as 2/3 of aedeagus.
Female genitalia (GU-14054, holotype, deposited in BMNH). The genital slide of the holotype is poorly dissected and mounted, and not illustrated here.
Material examined. 1Ψ (holotype), 29/795-6, Sri Lanka, gen. prep. no. GU-14054, and six additional specimens including the holotype (♂) of F. basaliella Walker, 1864 , in BMNH. 1♂, Anu Dist., Hunuwilagamma 200 ft, 28 X 1976; 1♂, 10–19 III 1970; 1?, Rat Dist., Uggalkatota 350 ft, 31 I – 8 II 1976, in USNM.
Distribution. Sri Lanka.
