Material examined. Type. Holotype ♀: MADAGASCAR: Fianarantsoa Province, Ranomafana National Park, Vohiparara area, 21°24.032'S 47°39.399'E, 1150 m, Pitfall trap, mixed tropical forest, 8–19.I.2001, D.H. & K.M. Kavanaugh, R.L. Brett, E. Elsom & F. Vargas leg. ( CAS). Other material. MADAGASCAR: Fianarantsoa Province, Ranomafana National Park, Vatoharanana River, 4.1 Km 231° SW Ranomafana, 21°17.24'S 47°26.00'E, 1100 m, sifted litter, montane rainforest, 27–31.III.2003, Fisher, Griswold et al. leg., 3♀♀ (2 in CAS, 1 in MOLC); Fianarantsoa Province, 7 Km W Ranomafana, 900 m, 20–31.I.1990, flight intercept-yellow pan trap in Malaise trap in small clearing montante rainforest, W.E. Steiner leg., 1♀ ( USNM); Toamasina Province, Montagne d'Anianaharibe, 18.0 Km 21° NNE Ambinanitelo, 15°11.18'S 49°36.54'E, 470 m, 8–12.III.2003, sifted litter (leaf mold, rotten wood) in rainforest, Fisher, Griswold et al. leg., California Academy of Sciences, 1♀ ( CAS).

Redescription. Female: apterous; length 3.4–3.5 mm (metasoma of holotype missing; length of head + mesosoma 2.2 mm). Testaceous, except petiole black. Antenna of holotype testaceous, except last two segments whitish; antenna of specimen from Madagascar, 15°11.18'S 49°36.54'E, brown, except segments 1–2 testaceous and segments 8–10 whitish. Antenna clavate; antennal segments of the holotype in following proportions: 10:4:12:5.5:5:5:5:5:5:9; antennal segments of female from Madagascar, 15°11.18'S 49°36.54'E, in following proportions: 10:5:15:7:6:5.5:5.5:5.5:5:10. Head excavated, shiny, smooth, unsculptured; frontal line complete; occipital carina absent; temple distinct. Head of the holotype with POL = 1; OL = 2; OOL = 6. Head of female from Madagascar, 15°11.18'S 49°36.54'E, with POL = 0.5; OL = 1.5; OOL = 7. Palpal formula 5/3 or 6/3 (5/ 3 in holotype; 6/ 3 in specimen from Madagascar, 7 Km W Ranomafana). Pronotum shiny, smooth, unsculptured, crossed by strong transverse furrow. Scutum shiny, smooth, unsculptured, with two large lateral pointed apophyses; scutum very slender, about twice as long as broad (length calculated from anterior margin to imaginary line joining two lateral pointed apophyses of scutum)(9:4.5). Scutellum shiny, smooth, flat. Metanotum not hollow behind scutellum, flat, almost completely smooth and unsculptured, with or without few short keels. Metanotum with two large lateral pointed apophyses. Metathorax + propodeum shiny, with anterior surface shiny, smooth, unsculptured; posterior surface of propodeum transversely striate. Mesopleuron and metapleuron smooth, shiny, unsculptured. Meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete. Protarsal segments of holotype in following proportions: 10:2:4:12:20; protarsal segments of female from Madagascar, 15°11.18'S 49°36.54'E, in following proportions: 13:2.5:5:15:25. Segment 5 of protarsus ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 12 – 14. 12, 13 ) with two rows of 11–15 lamellae; distal apex with about 10–11 lamellae. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 12 – 14. 12, 13 ) with one large subdistal tooth and one row of 4–5 lamellae and one bristle. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.
