Report associated with sponges: This has been reported among sponge Spongilla lacustris from Canada ( Conroy 1979; among sponge of the family Spongillidae ( Hevers 1980) ; among sponge Dosilia radiospiculata from Louisiana ( Vidrine et al. 1986; Vidrine 1996).

Remarks: This has been reported from Michigan and western Canada ( Cook 1980). Conroy & Scudder (1975) summarized reports of this mite from Lake Marion in Canada.
