Neosteneotarsonemus Tseng & Lo, 1980: 127 . Typespecies by original designation: Neosteneotarsonemus mirabilis Tseng and Lo, 1980
Steneotarsonemus (Neosteneotarsonemus) : Lindquist, 1986: 284.
Tseng & Lo (1980) established Neosteneotarsonemus based on the type species Neosteneotarsonemus mirabilis collected from rice leaf sheath in Taipei Hsien, Taiwan. Lindquist (1986) treated it as a subgenus of Steneotarsonemus and described another species S. (N.) arcticus from grasses of Calamagrostis pupurascens and Poa glauca View in CoL in North America. He also transferred Chaetotarsonemus kerguelenensis Fain, 1976 from soil on Kerguelen Island of the Southern Indian Ocean, to Steneotarsonemus (Neosteneotarsonemus) . Lin & Zhang (1995) described Steneotarsonemus (Neosteneotarsonemus) trisetus collected from the leaf sheath of Zizania caduciflora View in CoL in Fujian, China. Lin, Zhang & Liu (2000) described another species, Steneotarsonemus (Neosteneotarsonemus) guangzensis , from the leaf sheath of rice in Fujian, China.
