Summary. A new species Prosevania austrina Rameshkumar et Kazmi , sp. n. is described from Tamil Nadu state in southern India. The new species is similar to P.

euerythrothorax (Mani, 1943) and P. parerythrothorax (Muzaffer, 1943) but differs from both in the shape of head and the wing venation.
