( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1–6 )
Paracerostegia kunmingensis Tang & Xie in Tang, 1991: 310 View in CoL .
Material examined. YUNNAN: 2 ♀♀, Dali, on Magnolia grandiflora (Magnoliaceae) , 29.iv.2013, coll. Xubo Wang. 2 ♀♀, Qujing, on Camellia japonica (Theaceae) , 27.iv.2012, coll. Jun Deng & Haibin Li.
Distribution in China. Yunnan.
Host-plants. Magnolia grandiflora (Magnoliaceae) ; Pittosporum glabratum , P. tobira (Pittosporaceae) ( Wu & Xie 1997).
Biology. Ceroplastes kunmingensis has a similar biology to C. japonicus , but reproduces parthenogenetically. In Kunming city, Yunnan province, it has one generation a year and overwinters as adult females on the twigs of its hosts. The immature stages live on the upper leaf surfaces along the main veins, and the young adult females migrate from the leaves to the twigs when 1–3 years old ( Wu & Xie 1997).
