Distribution in China. Guangdong, Taiwan, Yunnan.
Host-plants. Ilex cornut a ( Aquifoliaceae ); Fatsia japonica (Araliaceae) ; Buxus megistophylla , B. sinica (Buxaceae) ; Bischofia javanica (Euphorbiaceae) ; Cinnamomum burmanni , C. camphora , Persea americana (Lauraceae) ; Magnolia delavayi , M. grandiflora , Magnolia sp., Manglietia fordiana , Michelia yunnanensis (Magnoliaceae) ; Ficus microcarpa (Moraceae) ; Cedrus deodara (Pinaceae) ; Platanus orientalis (Platanaceae) ; Ixora chinensis (Rubiaceae) .
Biology. This species has one generation a year on Buxus megistophylla in Kunming city, Yunnan Province, and overwinters as adult females or third-instar nymphs. It reproduces parthenogenetically, and feeds on the twigs of its host ( Wang et al. 2006). In southern Taiwan, it has three generations per year and reproduces mainly by parthenogenesis, although adult
males can be found ( Wen & Lee 1986).
