Ceroplastes rusci ( Linnaeus, 1758) View in CoL
( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 7–12 )
Ceroplastes rusci (Linnaues) , Li & Wu, 2013: 1295. Material examined. GUANGDONG: 20 ♀♀, Maoming, on Ficus microcarpa (Moraceae) , 18.iv.2012, coll. Jun Deng, Haibin Wang & Ying Wang. SICHUAN: 18 ♀♀, Panzhihua, on Ficus virens (Moraceae) , 29.iv.2012, coll. Jun Deng, Haibin Li & Ying Wang. YUNNAN: 1 ♀, Puer, on Chrysalidocarpus lutescens (Palmae) , 25.iv.2013, coll. Jun Deng, Xubo Wang & Xu Zhang.
Distribution in China. Guangdong, Sichuan, Yunnan.
Host-plants. Alstonia scholaris (Apocynaceae) ; Bischofia javanica (Euphorbiaceae) ; Ficus concinna , F. microcarpa , F. virens (Moraceae) ; Chrysalidocarpus lutescens , Trachycarpus fortunei (Palmae) .
Remarks. This species was first reported from China by Li & Wu (2013) on Ficus microcarpa and F. virens in Guangdong and Sichuan. Deng et al. (2014) developed a nested PCR method for its rapid and accurate identification. In China, this species is very close to C. xishuangensis Tang & Xie , but differs from the latter by having a cephalic clear area.
