Famíly Bornetellaceae Granier & Bucur in Granier et al.

The characteristic of the representatives of this family is to have their reproductive organs sited on the side of the primaries (i.e., on the side of the first order of laterals). This feature was termed the goniosporate type by Granier and Bucur ( Granier et al., 2013a, 2013b). We assume that the organogenus Terquemella Munier-Chalmas ex L. & J. Morellet, which refers to isolated reproductive organs consisting of groups of cysts ( Fig. 5 View Fig a-b), corresponds to skeletal remains of large Bornetellacean algae. Terquemellas are part of all algal assemblages .
