Holotype (male): Montenegro: Durmitor, Komarnica, Krivača, 1050m, 8.VIII.1989, leg. D. Pavićević in coll. Zoologisches Forschungsmuseum Alexander Koenig Bonn ( ZFMK).

Paratypes: 1 Ƥ (allotype), same locality as holotype, 9.VIII.1990, leg. S. Ingrisch ( ZFMK); 2 3, 1 Ƥ, do., 3.VIII.1991, leg. D. Pavićević ( CDPV); 2 3, 2 Ƥ, do., 20.VIII.1995, leg. D. Pavićević ( CDPV); 1 3, Komarnica, entrance of the Canyon, Nevidio, 1000m, 20.VIII.1995, leg. D. Pavićević ( CDPV).

Type locality. Dry forest meadows on stony slopes in the upper Komarnica valley (Durmitor, Montenegro).

Diagnosis. Intermediate between L. punctatissima Bosc, 1892 and L. laticauda (Frivaldsky, 1867) . The differences to these closely related species are summarised in a tabular key ( Tab. 1 View TABLE 1 ).

Description. Male. Pronotum ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E F) short, anterior margin slightly, posterior margin distinctly raised. Tegmina ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E F) short, rounded, not reaching posterior margin of first abdominal tergite. Stridulatory file ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E H–I) with over 70 very small and faint teeth. Cerci ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E K) stout, slightly constricted in circa middle of length, curved before apex and suddenly narrowed into apical tooth. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E J) broad at base, with distinct narrow apical part; apex slightly excised.

Female. Pronotum ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E G) short, anterior and posterior margins faintly raised. Tegmina ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E G) rounded, reaching about middle of first abdominal tergite. Cerci short, stout, constricted before apex, interior margin substraight, exterior margin convex. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E M) small, transverse-triangular with apex rounded. Ovipositor ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E L) sickle-shaped, apex finely dentate.

Coloration. Green with reddish black dots. Two yellowish white dorso-lateral bands on vertex, discus of pronotum and lateral field of tegmina. Abdomen with a reddish brown dorso-median band and a small black spot on both sides of the median band at the base of some tergites.

L. punctatissima L. intermedia L. laticauda ( Figs. 1A–E View FIGURE 1. A – E ) ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E F–M) ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – E N–S) Measurements. Body male 14.0–20.5, female 17.0–22.0; pronotum male 2.8–3.0, female 3.0–3.2; tegmen male 2.1–3.0, female 1.6; postfemur male 16, female 16; ovipositor 6.5–8.3 mm.

Etymology. Named for its intermediate appearance between L. punctatissima and L. laticauda .
