Diagnosis. Externally, the new species is very similar to its closest relative, B. anomala , and can be separated only by the genitalia structure. The male genitalia of B. fansipana sp. n. differ from those of B. anomala in the shorter uncus, much narrower and more elongated valva, presence of the transtillar lobe, the much smaller, denticle-like medial costal process, the large trigonal, heavily sclerotized distal costal process, the much larger, apically broadened, strongly setose and dorsally curved distal saccular process, configuration of the diverticula of vesica, and the much larger bunch of robust spine-like cornuti on the longest diverticulum. The female genitalia of B. fansipana sp. n. differ clearly from those of B. anomala in the different shape of the antevaginal plate, the shorter corpus bursae, the much stronger scobination on the anterior section of corpus bursae, and the larger signum.

Description. Adult ( Figs. 16–17 View FIGURES10–17 ). Forewing length 12–13 mm in males and 15–16 mm in females. Antennae of both sexes ciliate. Head and thorax pale red, abdomen dark brown. Forewing broad with elongated and rounded apex. Ground color of forewing pale red, pattern consists of a narrow longitudinal trigonal black strip along vein Cu, reaching wing margin between M1 and M2 and narrowed distally, and two short and thin additional strips subapically on veins R5 and M1. Cilia pale red. Hind wing dark brown. Male genitalia ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 32–34 ). Uncus long, narrow, laterally flattened, apically pointed, C-like curved. Tuba analis with weakly scobinated field in subscaphial area. Tegumen short and moderately broad; vinculum large, U-like; juxta shield-like, weakly sclerotized; valva narrow, elongated; broad tubercle-like, setose transtillar lobe presented; costa moderately sclerotized, slightly Slike curved, with strongly sclerotized trigonal distal process directed dorsally; medial costal process reduced, very small, tooth-like; transtillar process large, inflated, strongly setose; distal membranous lobe of valva short and broad, rounded; sacculus strongly setose, with large, apically broadened, curved dorsally, strongly setose distal process. Aedeagus short, broad, straight; vesica with three short membranous diverticula medially, and one long tubular apical diverticulum with bunch of spine-like cornuti. Female genitalia ( Fig. 44 View FIGURES 44–49 ). Ovipositor short, broadly conical; apophyses anteriores and posteriores long and thin, apophyses anteriores slightly shorter than posteriores; antrum broad; antevaginal plate heavily sclerotized, with rounded lateral lobes, deep rectangular medial concavity, and broad horseshoe-like anterior fold; ductus bursae very short, membranous; corpus bursae short, sack-like, with dense spinulose scobination on the whole inner surface and small rounded signum situated medially; appendix bursae conical, basally broad with dense spinulose scobination, distally narrowed and membranous, situated postero-laterally.

Distribution. North Vietnam.
