Neoperla tuberculata Wu, 1938: 122 ; Du et al., 2001: 77. Type locality: Zhejiang Province, Mt. Tianmushan.

Supplementary description. Forewing length ca. 13.8 mm. Head with an anterior triangular marking on frons, ocelli triangular with a quadrate dark macula with two anterior wing-like extensions. Pronotum brown with paler markings in lateral margins. Legs yellowish brown with femur-tibia joint black ( Figs. 10 View FIGURE 10 A–B). Hemitergal processes of tergum 10 strongly sclerotized and lacking swollen base. Aedeagal tube plump and dorsal surface sclerotized, curved ventrad forming hook-like tip ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 E). Aedeagal sac about 2X longer than tube and basal portion forming a loop; the loop with several rows of small spines, the spinose area beyond the loop ornamented by ca. 4 rows of irregular small to larger spines and near apex the larger ones forming a cluster; a pair of uneverted apical flagella visible through cuticle ( Figs. 11–12 View FIGURE 11 View FIGURE 12 ).

Material examined. 1 male (HIST), China: Zhejiang Province, Lin’an County, Mt. East Tianmushan, Dongpu stream, 30.3622 N, 119.5208 E, 2011. V.14, Weihai Li. 1 male (CAU), China: Zhejiang Province, Lishui City, Qingyuan County, Mt. Baishanzu, 27.7609 N, 119.2093 E, 1100 m, 1994. IV. 20, Hong Wu.

Remarks. Our typotype specimens agree well with descriptions of N. tuberculata (Wu 1938) . General color pattern, the body size and features of tergum 7 of N. tuberculata are similar to those of N. flagellata . This species also has similar terminalia to N. sinensis , but the details of the aedeagus of this species are unknown. The current specific status of N. sinensis is unresolved.
