L. pentadactylus View in CoL have a mitochondrial collar ( Fig. 5I).

In the majority of the studied species from this group, the tail is constituted by the axoneme, adjacent to a juxtaxonemal fiber, an axial fiber, and an undulating membrane ( Fig. 5J). L. rhodonotus lacks a juxtaxonemal fiber ( Fig. 5K). Axoneme only in cross-sections of the terminal region of the tail, were only seen in L. rhodomystax ( Fig. 5J) and L. myersi .
